The Idea & Challenge
Digitizing the ancient Chinese I Ching divination process into an accessible, responsive web application using the seminal Wilhelm translation.
Role & Technical Scope
Designed and engineered the application in TypeScript and Vite, implementing the hexagram generation algorithm, trigram visualizer, and dynamic changing line interpretations.
Outcome & Learning
Currently live in production as both a web application and Android app, serving real users with tiered payment options and a full divination pipeline.
- Production Web & Android: Deployed and actively maintained as both a responsive web application (cleromancer.app) and a mobile app on Google Play, delivering a seamless cross-platform experience.
- Tiered Payment Integration: Integrated with an existing payment system supporting multiple tiers and feature unlocks.
- Real-World Traction: Actively serving real users consulting the ancient 64-hexagram Book of Changes through algorithmic coin casting simulations and authentic Wilhelm translations.
